Itinerary for the Camping Adventure

  • Day 1:

    • Morning: Depart from Kigali and embark on a scenic drive to Akagera National Park.
    • Mid-morning: Arrive at the designated campsite and set up your tent with the help of your guide or park staff.
    • Afternoon: Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch amidst the park’s scenery.
    • Afternoon (contd): Embark on a thrilling game drive in a 4WD vehicle, spotting diverse wildlife in the savanna grasslands.
  • Evening: Return to your campsite as the sun sets, enjoy a campfire dinner prepared by your guide, and share stories under the star-filled night sky.

  • Day 2:

    • Morning: Wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy a fresh breakfast prepared at the campsite.
    • Mid-morning: Optional activities might include a guided nature walk to explore the park’s diverse flora and fauna or a boat safari on Lake Ihema, spotting hippos and crocodiles.
    • Afternoon: Pack up your campsite and depart from Akagera National Park, returning to Kigali with lasting memories.

 

Additional Tips

  • Essential Gear: Pack a good quality tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, appropriate clothing for varying temperatures, a headlamp, insect repellent, and a first-aid kit.
